Polluted northern beach reaches crisis point
The beach at Giao Long Commune, in northern Nam Dinh Province, is a polluted stretch of coastline, strewn with rubbish.
A local fisherman from Giao Long, Giao Thuy District said debris from rivers and canals in the surrounding area had been deposited on the shore, posing a terrible threat to the health of local people.
Despite the mounting waste, the commune had yet to take any action, the fisherman noted.
If no drastic measures are taken the pollution may take a horrific toll on the local farming industry.
